The Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) award is chosen by a panel of 16 NFL experts each year. Technically, anyone can be named the MVP of the Super Bowl which is why sportsbooks will list odds for everyone – including the punter. The usual candidates like the quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and key defensive players will typically have the best odds. First Touchdown
First touchdown props also promise big betting action. There are plenty of variables around a first touchdown bet including how the touchdown was scored, who scored it, by which team, and even at which point in the game. Number of Touchdowns
A bet on the number of touchdowns will usually refer to the total touchdowns for one team or combined in the game. Super Bowl scores have ranged from as few as 16 points and just one touchdown (Super Bowl LIII), to as many as 75 points and 10 touchdowns (Super Bowl XXIX). One handy way to get an idea of what bookmakers are predicting will happen is to look at the over/under odds for the game.

The quarterback position has dozens of props associated with is. Most sportsbooks will offer Super Bowl bets on the total passing yards for a quarterback, the total touchdown passes, total completions, total interceptions thrown, and the total pass attempts in a game. The national anthem is a staple Super Bowl bet. Each year a big name in music will sing before the show, and sportsbooks will offer bets on everything surrounding the song. Past national anthem props have included the time it takes for the artist to sing the song, how long the word ‘brave’ is held for, if a word is omitted, the color of the microphone, or even if the artist is wearing nail polish. Betting on the coin toss is one of the most widely wagered Super Bowl props. Classic Super Bowl bets include if the coin will land on heads or tails, which team will win the toss, and if the winner of the coin toss will win the Super Bowl. Gatorade Color
Dumping a cooler of Gatorade on the head coach after a big win is a time-honored tradition among football players. Since there’s no win bigger than the Super Bowl, you can count on it happening each year. The colors that bettors can usually choose are blue, yellow, clear, orange, red, and blue. Historically, orange and clear are the two favored colors – though there’s no way of telling. This is another bet that’s just for fun.
Halftime Show Props
Sportsbooks will have Super Bowl odds on pretty much every aspect of the halftime show. Popular bets include wagers on the number of costume changes by the artist, if a wardrobe malfunction will occur, whether a certain song will be played, which song will be played first, last, or not at all.
